The bus dropped Ziggy and Dust off about a block from the clinic, while Ziggy was a bit over protective about the distance, Dust just took the journey with ease. The building was rather plain with only a pair of double doors and the name of the clinic on the outside.
Ziggy held the doors for Dust as she walked up to the receptionist, "I'm Dust Charter here for my 2 o'clock appointment."
The attendant looked at the clock and said, "You're a bit early, the doctor is in another appointment, if you and your husband would please take a seat."
Dust nodded and walked to one of the seats, Ziggy joined her a few seconds latter.
"I'm just going to have to accept that I'm going to be mistaken for that aren't I?" He chuckled.
Dust shrugged, "In all honesty I don't mind being called your wife. Helps me forget the reality of the situation."
"I guess that's a good idea, it's also kind of you to say you don't mind being seen with me in general!" He said laughing, laying his arm over her shoulder.
She leaned into the hug, "We moved too fast with Reality, we should have waited before making a bond. Thinking about it now, I would much rather of had you changed into an immortal than him."
"Really? Would I have stayed my wolfy self in such an instance?"
"It's possible, after all your race was created by magic, and also humans are so easily changed. Though you probably would have gained some fox markings."
"Ooh there's nothing wrong with that! I love some of the markings you guys are born with; the nose stripes, the eyelines and the ears too! I love the bold and striking colors!" he paused a moment while he calmed himself down from the excitement. "So... you really think I could've been daddy material?"
Dust smiled, "Of course, you are here with me now, most men would run the other way. Especially since it's another man's kit." She leaned over and lick-kissed him, "As I said, I truly appreciate what you are doing for me. And I meant what I said about you staying around during my sons life."
Ziggy blushed, "You know I'll be here always Dust, forever and a day." He said giving her a warm smile in return.
Taking a deep breath before what she had to say next, she started trembling in fear a little, "Ziggy? I have a question for you, and please don't take it the wrong way."
"Go ahead."
Normally the woman doesn't do this, but I'm going to do this anyways," She took a deep breath, her emotions rushing through her, "Ziggy, this child needs someone in his life, more than what a godfather would provide. Would you become my mate?"
Ziggy's draw dropped agape upon what he heard, going from godfather to father in one day was quite a step. "...Goodness me, I honestly don't think my heart can take much more your life's choices Dust!" Ziggy flung his arms around Dust, "OF COURSE I WILL!" He exclaimed. He forced himself as close to Dust as possible, showing little sign of letting go anytime soon.
Dust blushed at his reaction and put her head on his shoulder and started crying. She whispered, "Thank you Ziggy." Meanwhile the other people in the office noticed the commotion and a few of the other patients that were nearby told the rest of the office what happened, and some applause was given to the two.
A few minutes later the door opened and a nurse called out, "Dust Charter?"
Wiping the tears from her now wet fur Dust pried Ziggy from her shoulders, "I'm here." The nurse stood patiently as Ziggy helped Dust stand up and walked with her to the door. The nurse was about to stop Ziggy from coming back when Dust said, "No worries, he's my fiance. I would like him to join me."
“Very well, please follow me, the doctor will be with you both in a few minutes." They followed the nurse to one of the small rooms. She helped Dust sit on the bed and started taking her vitals; blood pressure, pulse rate, and some blood for hormonal testing.
Dust lifted up her shirt, revealing her large belly, the nurse took out a cloth measuring tape and measured from the bottom of her uterus to the top and wrote down a few numbers, she also took the measurement across her belly.
The nurse put the heart monitor on her ears and held the stethoscope to the belly. She smiled as she turned to Ziggy, "Would you like to hear your cub?"
"Yea sure!" Ziggy took the stethoscope and placed the ends in his ears. "Awww I can hear it! Nice and strong!" He returned the stethoscope to it's owner rather reluctantly.  Dust smiled as she watched Ziggy's almost ecstatic face, his ears fully forward and his tail wagging like a fan. She truly wished that she had asked him to come earlier than this. After taking back the instrument the nurse left them alone in the office to wait for the doctor.
Dust sat up on her elbows, "So Ziggy, how are you doing?"
"Well, other than this being the best day of my life... I'd say I'm doing pretty well thanks! How are you feeling?"
"Other than a little bloated, I feel great." She brushed his hand with hers, "Just a quick warning though, the doctor is my Uncle."
"Hmm, I'm thinking this could be a bit more of a scare for him than me..."
"I think that he already knows about the proposal, after all you yelled it in the lobby. The only question is if he knows it was me and not you that proposed." Dust looked at the door, wondering what her uncle will do.
Ziggy was about to respond when the door opened and a fox in a white labcoat walked in, "Hello Dust, it's good to see you." He walked over and gave her a hug.
Returning the hug Dust said, "Uncle Theo, I saw you this morning."
He smiled, "I know, but a lot can happen in a few hours." He then looked over and saw Ziggy sitting on one of the stools, "You're sitting on my stool, boy."
"Oh terribly sorry sir! As you have probably worked out it has been quite the day for me - I just needed a little break!" Said Ziggy is some kind of humorous yet desperate way.
Theo dismissed the excuses with a wave of his hand, "Whatever wolf. Dust, why is it that whenever you make a decision I'm the last to hear about it?"
Dust's ears fell back, "Well I only decided on the engagement this morning, but trust me when I say that this time the decision was made without a spell or hormones, I've been considering it for the last month."
Theo looked at his niece and sighed, "Well at least you seem to have made a better choice than last time. Are you sure that this one isn't looking for power either?"
Dust scowled at Theo, "Uncle Theo, I've known Ziggy for several years. He has no ambition in that regards, and he is a promising mage. I know that even if we don't marry, that he will continue his studies and perhaps one day be a peer to you." She leaned over and poked him, "Now apologize to him for being so rude."
Shocked a little at Dust's aggression Theo backed up, "I'm sorry, I didn't know how strongly you felt about this, I'm just protective for you."
Leaning back into the bed Dust tried to relax a little, "I know, and I love you for it, but this time the decision is mine and his, not some spell that you created two hundred years ago."
"Trying to blame your pregnancy on me now?" Theo said, putting a hand to his chest. He was only teasing and she knew it.
"Not at all, the decisions that were made were all my own, perhaps influenced by the spell, but nothing that I wasn't already planning on doing that night." She smirked as Theo sputtered at that response, "Now can we get on with this or are we going to talk all day?"
"Right, of course." Theo opened a drawer and pulled out some gel and wheeled the ultrasound machine over. As he turned the machine on he turned to Ziggy, "I'm sorry for my treatment earlier."
Ziggy was standing up against the wall next to where the stool used to be with his ears firmly pressed against the back of his head, "Please, it's quite alright, I shouldn't have sat in a chair I wasn't asked to sit in." His ear's picked up a little.
Theo pulled Dust's shirt up and sprayed the gel on her stomach, she shivered at the cold gel though it quickly warmed up, "Still the apology is needed, normally I'm not such a grump to people, I'm just protective of my niece."
I can tell you've been a great father figure to her judging by how angry she can get at you at times." Ziggy chuckled.
Theo picked up a strange device that was shaped in the form of a crescent, he put some more of the gel on it and clicked a button. He then held it to Dust's womb and began searching for the baby. Dust and Ziggy watched the monitor as he moved it around. The ultrasound machine was state of the art and was able to show the images in color. After a few seconds the image of the baby's head showed up, it's features were that of a little fox. It's eyes were closed with it's little tail wrapped around it's torso.
Theo nodded at what he was seeing and said, "It seems that everything is developing normally, his limbs seem to be the right length and his head isn't malformed." He wrote some things on the clipboard and continued, "If you look closely Ziggy, you can see that it is male, and that he is already developing fur. In general Dust, he is very healthy and should be a strong baby."
"He's a beautiful child! Awh look he's got the startings of your nose marking too!" squealed Ziggy.
Dust chuckled, "I guess he does, that is the first time that we've been able to see any sort of markings." She couldn't blame Ziggy for being this happy, though it wasn't his child. She knew that marrying him was the right decision. As she thought of this her tail began wagging as well.
Theo moved the probe around, moving the image with it, he then began his examination, pressing on her belly to make him move so that he could see his back. Dust felt him moving and kicking from being woken up and she was able to see her belly move with him. "Be careful uncle, it's not your organs that are being kicked."
"Oh hush, you're not the first woman to have a ultrasound." Theo chided as he continued his exam. He continued for a while, explaining to Ziggy what he was looking for. Soon though the physical part of the exam was finished and he took out a towel and started to rub the gel out of Dust's fur.
"I'm sorry Mr. Johnson, but this next part I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Theo said as he prepared to probe her magicaly. He kept tight control of his illusions while working magic, but he couldn't have Dust keeping the shields and illusions up during this part.
"Don't worry Doctor Charter, I can feel the presence of the power in the room, I'm quite aware of your secret sir." He said giving a reassuring smile.
Theo stopped his preparations, "What secret?"
"Dust has let me onto know quite a lot these past few months sir, one point of which being that you and Dust both veil your immense power in the public eye. I hope this isn't a problem is it?"
Theo glared at Dust, "How dare you tell this wolf of our existence!" He then flicked his hand at the door, locking it from across the room, the lights flickered as a powerful shield was erected around them. After this was done he turned on Ziggy, his illusion down, all five tails twitching in anger.
He controlled his voice so that he didn't yell, "How long have you known, wolf?"
“Uhh... m-maybe six months n-now?" Ziggy was clearly becoming fearful, he was crouching down slightly with his hands close to his chest, his ears farther down his head than they had ever been before it seemed.
"Uncle, don't..." Dust began before Theo cut her off.
"Do not interrupt me child. I will deal with you later, but for now answer all my questions truthfully wolf, I'll know if you are lying." The lights flickered again as his tails began glowing slightly. "Now, have you told anyone about what you have heard?"
"As I told Dust the moment I found out; it goes to the grave with me sir." Ziggy's tail was now pressed up against his right leg in fear.
"That may have been good enough for Dust, but how will you prove to ME that you can keep your promise? And why I shouldn't burn the memories from your puny brain?"
Ziggy shook his head a little and gathered himself, "Love, Doctor Charter, is a strange thing... Love is trust. Love is Life, and most importantly, love is care. If you understood how much I care for your niece, all fear would be removed from your body in the blink of an eye. I love Dust more than anything you could even imagine... more than life itself..." Ziggy walked over to Dust and held her hand between his own two and kissed her on the forehead. Dust blushed at the declaration and Theo watched. The power decreased a little as he felt the strength of his conviction.
"That's well and good, but what would you do to keep her? You say you would die for her, but would you give up the life you live now to do the same?"
Ziggy looked dead center into Theo's eyes, "I would remain the happiest man on earth just to know I could stay with her, only death itself would put an end to our earth-bound love."
Theo looked him back in the eyes, "Would you give up your magic? Your entire future?"
Dust felt Ziggys hand clench at this, but when she looked up at his face she saw determination and strength as he stood up to her uncle, "I already told you, I would give up anything, including all my magical potential to be with her. I would even be willing to go through your ritual that would change me into one of your kind."
The lights in the room regained their brightness as Theo backed down, he smiled at the young wolf, "I like your spunk, and your complete honesty. I will not stand in the way of you two from this point on. Just know, that if you hurt Dust like Reality did, I will hunt you down and you will wish that I had burned the memories out when you had the chance."
"You have my permission to turn me to ashes on the spot if I even lay a finger on her, but I assure you that the key to my heart will forever remain in the hands of Dust." He looked back down to Dust longingly. "Please, continue your check up."
"Very well, Dust please remove your barriers and illusion," Dust's body shimmered a little as she brought down her shields and illusions. The second tail waved next to the one that was normally visible and Theo held out his hand. "It seems that your experimentation with magic with that reckless professor haven't had a negative effect on the fetal barrier or to the child. Though it seems that you have been over exerting yourself. Please remember that you are not as strong as you were last week."
Dust blushed at the assessment, "I'll try and remember, but it's hard to know how much power has been diverted."
"That may be true, but just keep it in mind." Theo's tails all shimmered as he reestablished his illusions. A few seconds later Dust did the same as she sat up in the bed.
"Thank you Uncle Theo, Ziggy, we can go now." Dust stood up as Ziggy took her arm.
As they were leaving through the door Theo called to Ziggy, "Mr. Johnson, would you please stay for a little longer?"
Ziggy looked at Dusk and she nodded, "I'll be fine, I'll wait for you in the lobby."-
He let go of Dust and wandered back into the office. Closing the door behind him he looked at Theo.
"Ziggy, I'm trusting you with her. When her father and mother died I was the one that took her in. For most of her life she has lived and grown with me, now that duty is placed on you for as long as you live. Do not fail me." Theo walked up to Ziggy and held out his hand, "The word of a Kitsune is life, we will never back out of an agreement and heaven help he who does."
"Love is life sir, you can rest your faith on me." He said smiling. He took Theos hand and shook it.
Theo smiled and let go of the handshake, "Good, I belive your fiance is waiting for you, enjoy the rest of your day."
"It was lovely to meet you, it probably won't be too long till we meet again!"
Dust was standing at the counter arranging the next appointment when Ziggy left the examination part of the clinic. She looked over at him and said, "I hope that my Uncle didn't browbeat you again."
"Nah he's a nice chap on the inside!"
She sighed, "I know but he can be very outrageous at times. Much like you in fact."
Ziggy opened the doors again for her as they exited the clinic and started walking towards the bus stop. As they approached Dust saw that there was someone sitting on the bench reading a news paper. She sat down on the bench next to the stranger and turned to Ziggy.
"So what do you have planned for the rest of the day?"
"I thought I might go home and cook something nice up, maybe pasta or something..."
Someone walked up behind the two and said, "Excuse me are you Dust Charter?"
Dust turned around and said, "Yes, who's asking?"
The strange human lifted his hand and blew a white powder in her face, "The Elvire require your presence." Dust's eyes rolled back into her head as she slumped over unconscious. Her illusion on her tails flickered out as she lost consciousness. Meanwhile a white, unmarked van drove up and four men in black robes and facemasks jumped out.
Ziggy jumped to his feet, attempting to catch Dust before she hit the floor. He laid her down and sprung up to confront the culprit, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" he growled, forming fists and baring his teeth.
The man that blew the powder just looked at Ziggy while the other men came up behind him and said, "This is of no concern of yours wolf, just know that we have removed the dangerous influence of a Kitsune from within this fair city, go along with your business."
"WHAT THE FU-" Ziggy lost it at this point, wild energy flowed around him as his rage at what these humans were trying to do ran through him. He cocked his hand and threw a bolt of yellow lightning at the man that drugged Dust. He lifted his hand and deflected the blow, before throwing a blast of wind at Ziggy. The blast knocked him to the ground a few feet away from Dust. The other men had been waiting for this and they picked up Dust and began carrying her to the van.
Ziggy recovered from the blast and growled at the attackers, his fur standing on end, his tail completely slicked and standing straight out. he gathered the energy from around him and threw another bolt. This time it struck his target, one of the attackers screamed as the magical shielding around him failed. Ziggy smiled and prepared another strike when suddenly he felt dizzy. He reached his hand to the back of his head and pulled around only to find it covered in blood.
The man that had been sitting on the bench reading the paper had struck him. Ziggy lost his balance as the world began to darken. He fell forward onto the ground, the last thing he saw before blacking out was Dust being hauled into the white van and the door to the van closing.
He held out his hand and groaned, "Dust..." before passing out on the pavement, blood trickling from the back of his head.
Lots of things happen this chapter, first time the baby is seen, Dust proposes to Ziggy and then Dust is Kidnaped by the Elvire! What is going to happen now?

I wonder if Reality was made to "disappear" by the Elvire as well...
I have a hard time believing Reality would just abandon Dust entirely, even after the letter, though I could just have a bad sense of him.
(if the Elvire got him, he's probably dead anyways by now)
